Still figuring things out

So with the excitment of having a new blog comes the responsibility to make sure it looks pretty and doesn't suck. Last night when Omar got home I asked him "Want to see our family blog?" He said of course. Then for about the next 30 to 45min he was changing the colors/fonts. He said that our blog was boring it needed color. Once he was done with the colors and whatever else he was doing he started in on the pictures. Are you sure Michelle that these are the pictures you want ect ect. We even went to free blog backgrounds websites and started looking at backgrounds together. Omar was way into this,I just think its a blog you write stuff on it, thats it. It's not like we are decorating our house.

I finally broke down and started a blog

Well I guess now is as good a time as ever to start this thing. With our family starting a new chapter in our lives I want to do better at documenting the fun filled adventures of the Saavedra family. Omar and I were married in the Salt Lake City, UT LDS Temple on Dec. 15th 2006. That was the best day of my life even though it didn't start snowing (Utah you would think that it's snows everyday in Dec, but NO not when I want it to Ugh) until all the pictures were taken and we were leaving our reception in our chevy malibu to face the awful highways. We didn't die as you can tell Thank Goodness. Another time we will tell you about how we met and the proposel. Hopefully we can record it b/c our friends say that when we tell the tales we have great facial expressions.

Now back to the present. As I said in my "About Me" I am a military wife. I am very proud of that title but sometimes its overwhelming what that all intells. The enless amounts of training that you have to do in the begining ( that is the stage that we are in right now). The deployments that are inevitable and with the National Guard (we are in) the many career choices you have. Omar and I were apart for 8 months in 08 for his Basic and AIT training. Then he can home and we decided to come to the Defence Language Institute in Monterey, CA for him to learn Chinese. While we have been in CA we have added a new addition to our family, Sophie our 6mon old pit bull. What can I say about our Sophiekins???? She acts exactly like a 2yr old child with ADD. She whines when don't pay attention to her and her energy level is thru the roof. But we love her.

Now we have come to the end of the road with military training for now and are moving back to Ogden to start our lives again with military only taking up 1 weekend a month not 24/7 active duty. It is going to be an adjustment to say the least. Back to school we go ROTC for Omar and no more moving for military until both of us graduate from college. I am excited to go home but will miss the many friends that we have made here. The next few weeks are going to be CRAZY!!!! Flying to Utah to find an apartment, Omar outprocessing, packing packing and more packing, cleaning cleaning and more cleaning. And then the 13 plus hour drive back to UT Sophie doesn't really like driving very much. We took her down to LA for a weekend only a 6hr drive and she hated it. Like my Dad says "Some kids are really good in the car and some are really bad" Well I guess I got a bad traveler.
